How long does it take for a 75 gallon Electric HoT water heater take to heat up?

How long does it take for a 75 gallon Electric HoT water heater take to heat up? just changed the bottom element on my 75 gallon water heater and it's been an hour , and I still get know hot water . So, how long does it take to get hot water working ? It's driving me nuts . I don't know If I did something wrong or I am just being inpatient . It's well water that the water heater is filled with . Any help would be great

I had hot water this morning , but it only lasted 8-10 minutes . I changed the bottom element and now NO hot water whats so ever . so what else can have gone wrong ? It's been a while now

conform your new element condition, may be it was faulty, or check for your old element rating(watts,volts) and new element rating it has be same,

I just installed a 50 Gallon water heater and had hot water in 30-40 minutes. You must have bought the wrong voltage element most are 3500 btu or 4500 btu be sure and check the old element for the correct wattage. Do you have a volt meter? If so place one end on the black wire and the other on the red or (white) wire and see if you have electricity flowing threw it. Did you connect the green (Ground) wire sometimes I forget to connect this one.
If all is checks out your Ok if not you have purchased a bad element.
