Question:

Has anybody bled in early pregnancy and gone onto to have a normal pregnancy and healthy baby ? Im so worried?

Has anybody bled in early pregnancy and gone onto to have a normal pregnancy and healthy baby ? Im so worried? Hi, I am 7 weeks pregnant with my 4th baby (youngest is now 7, so been a while). I have just returned from the hospital after getting a very bad pain down my right side (around where my ovaries are i think) and 5 or 10 minutes heavy bleeding (it was a heavy drip). They sent me home since it stopped and the pain subsided and have given me an appointment for Tuesday saying rest and see what happens. I am so very scared that Im going to lose the baby, has anyone had anything like this happen to them before and got through it ? I have been worried from day one though because I havent had any morning sickness and they say morning sickness is a sign of a strong pregnancy although some mums dont get it at all. I had severe morning sickness with all 3 of my last pregnancies so I am wondering if all this is a sign I am going to miscarry eventually. Any advice would be great x
Other 3 babies are boy, girl, girl so can't be anyhting to do with the sex of them. I'm glad to hear people have gone on to have healthy babies after bleeding, it's the one sided pain that worries me, all Ive read on one sided pain has been related to eptopic pregnancies. You've all been ever so helpful and it has given me something positive to focus on. Thanks x

Many women bleed during pregnancy. If you bleed heavily, with cramps, it is not a good sign. Many women who bleed go on to deliver healthy babies. When a first-term miscarriage occurs, it is usually related to an anomaly with the embryo.

yes i did have this & i went on to have twin girls...although prematurely - but they were fine...born just over a month early.

with your symptoms...when they say rest...they really do mean REST....like bed rest - do nothing except relax & even stay in bed!! if you don't ... you could go on to miscarry.....the bleeding is a warning sign to ease up. not easy with a family i know - but you must think of yourself & baby & rope the family in to help.

good luck though....don't worry too much - think positive!!

I'm not sure exactly how far along she was but I know when my Mom was pregnant with me she had a really bad episode of bleeding. She went to the hospital & they told her to just wait it out. Try to have high hopes... I wish you the best of luck.

I had bleeding in my pregnancy, and it was bright red, like a fresh cut. It dripped so fast heavy and bright that it turned my toilet bowl crimson and I freaked out too. It was just a blood vessel in my vagina however, and everything turned out fine.

I also never got real morning sickness, just light dizziness in the second month. Just thought you should know....as long as your baby has a heartbeat though, it should be okay. Good luck with your appointment!

I had bleeding like this at around 9 weeks pregnant with my 1st baby.He was born perfectly healthy, and is now 14!! I think the best thing is just to take it easy for a couple of weeks..and however hard, try your best not to worry.
I also had light bleeding with my 2nd baby who is now 5..again,a perfectly healthy girl.
I now have a 6 month old son,and didnt have this 'problem' during my pregnancy...even tho im now 37!
Hope all goes well for you! x

Oh sweetie!! I didn't have any morning sickness with mine, and I did bleed early on. I was put on bed rest until the bleeding subsided, but I also had an internal ultrasound scan (where they put a probe inside you) which showed a strong heartbeat and a 'viable' foetus. The reason for the internal ultrasound is (as I'm sure you know) in early pregnancy the baby is too hidden and small to be seen by a regular one.

I really do not know what else to say.. try not to stress, put your feet up and get hubby, or your older kids, to make you cups of tea etc. Professor Robert Winston (world fertility expert) said that if a pregnancy is viable then you could horse riding and it wouldn't cause a miscarriage, so if they occur (and I'm praying for you to not ever experience this) there is no blame apportioned to the mother. I;m afraid you are in mother nature's grace here. I've had miscarriages before my son, and panicked when I bled, but it was a successful pregnancy, so I really do hope it is the same for you xx

I had a problem that sounds similar to yours when I was about 6 weeks along. I spent some time in the ER because of some HEAVY bleeding, got sent home a few hours later and went to see my OB. I ended up having an ultrasound and heard the baby's heartbeat, but also discovered I have a large ovarian cyst on my left side that could have ruptured, causing the bleeding. The doc said to take it easy for a few days and I kept my next regular appointment. I am now 24 weeks with a baby boy and everything has gone great.
This does NOT mean you will eventually miscarry, but it wouldn't hurt to ask your doc for an ultrasound to be able to hear a heartbeat and possibly give you peace of mind.
Good Luck!

I had bleeding and period type pain with all 4 pregnancies at 4 weeks and 8 weeks which would have been around time my period was due. I also had morning sickness with my daughters but none with my son, are your other 3 all the same sex? Hope all goes well, it is reassuring that the bleeding and pain have stopped, it could be implantation bleeding, take it easy and try not to worry (easier said than done I know).
