Question:

remodeling/decorating room?

remodeling/decorating room? My room right now is very small and i really want to redecorate it and repaint walls. so lighter colors make the room look larger, i currently have YELLOW walls. and i dont mean light yellow, im talkin BRIGHT yellow. you wouldnt think that with yellow walls, a room could look dreary...but mine somehow does. i think windows makes a big difference and my room only has 1 window. and it is impossible and out of the question to put in another one. i never turn on my main lite in my room because it is literally blinding and with the yellow walls i want to make it brighter and CRAZY. like something different on each wall. splatter paint, circles, stripes, squares, stars, ect. i have a lot of furniture unfortunately which makes it seem even smaller. i really like hot/bright pink, lime green, orange.

Go to Michael's,Hobby Lobby or Walmart and buy a bunch of craft paints in the colors you like. Use these to splatter or paint on your yellow walls!

Simple first prime and paint your walls a bright white (I know boring but wait)
The wall where your window is paint stripes in hot pink and lime green in narrow 1/4 inch stripes between 1" white stripes
so it would be like !" white 1/4" lime green 1" white 1/4" hot pink 1" white 1/4' orange etc
Get some canvas duct material cut and stitch panels that will go from the ceiling to the floor as curtains lay it out on the floor using the same paint you used on the walls paint stripes of hot pink and lime green and orange divided by 1/4" white stripes (make sure you use a good water base paint not an oil though) add big grommets to the top and use a decorative rod.
On either connecting wall mask off large geometric squares that overlap making smaller squares within larger Using all three colors paint each square a different color leaving some squares white
On the next connecting wall put a small nail into the wall centered from top to bottom and edge to edge with a pencil tied to a string and the nail make one big circle, reduce the string 1" in length and repeat reduce 1" and repeat again paint the outer circle orange the middle circle lime green and the inner hot pink..
The last wall that doesn't connect with your vertical stripe wall you are going to stripe again only run the stripes vertically and use the stripes opposite 1/4' white stripes and 1" color stripes
This room will deffinately be bright and unique and you can bring all three colors into play with all the patterns you want
