Central Air Conditioning: Condenser fan starts then stops. Compressor continues to run.?
Central Air Conditioning: Condenser fan starts then stops. Compressor continues to run.? New fan motor, with it's own capacitor. Tech seems to think fan motor was bad. I'm not convinced. He is coming back to swap out the 'new' motor, for another 'new' motor. All other checks he did resulted in to problems. What's up?
PROBLEM FIXED.
PROBLEM FIXED. I am willing to bet the tech but a motor that was too small for the fan blade. It was overheating and stopping. When it cooled down it would run. He replaced the 1/6hp motor with a 1/2hp motor. And it's been running for the last 4 hours in 80+ degree temps.

even tho you have a new capacitor it still may be bad. the cap is what starts the motor of your fan they are called start/run capacitors........they must be sized correctly in order to work properly. if the fan comes on and off repeatedly its a sign that you have trouble with your cap
